I would never eat bitter gourd when I was a kid because I don’t like it’s bitter taste. Even the adult don’t like the bitter taste. I would say bitter gourd is very much an acquired taste dish. You must learn to appreciate the taste. Now I have since grew to love it. Today, I will be sharing with you the fried bitter gourd with egg recipe. This is a classic Chinese home-cooked dish.
Sometimes I like to make this dish and serve it with just a bowl of porridge as my lunch. It is a simple lunch and yet so satisfied.

If you want to reduce the bitterness of the bitter gourd, you can rub some salt on the halved bitter gourd and leave it for about 5 minutes. Then rinse it with water before cut it into slice. When slicing, make sure you slice it into very thin pieces. Personally, I found it taste better in thin slice than the thick slice.
